Tanker 7 is a 1999 Freightliner/4 Guys tanker. Protecting the outlying areas of Wallingford without town water supply, it is a twin to East Wallingford's Tanker 8. These trucks always run together to create an effective "tanker shuttle". The truck holds 1900 gallons of water in its double wall stainless steel tank. A 250gpm rated Hale pump is on board. We carry what is often referred to as a "portable pond" for holding a reserve of water with the pumper, while the tanker can go fill itself. The tanker has a seating capacity of 3 and responds to all structure fires in Wallingford's non-hydrant areas, as well as serving mutual aid to surrounding communities.
